My son, who was
forced to disappear is missing at Valaignar Madam, Mullaitheevu in end of war. I have met him and spock with him on 2009 march 25th, After that I
heard he had a small injury on his leg and surrendered to Srilanka Army in
Anandapuram, Puthukudiyiruppu.
We could not be
able to search him after we had surrendered to the army and kept in cheddikulam
internment camp. While I was in the camp, I got sick and had treatment in
vavuniya hospital, someone told to me that my son was admitted and got
treatment in pulmottai hospital, Under the Srilankan army Captivity.
After I came out of the internment camp, even though I have searched and complained many places, also met and enquired many responsible authorities, I haven’t got any appropriate answer. I haven’t got any solution about my son, even I have registered in authorities like ICRC, Human Right Commission, Reconciliation commission, president commission, police department and etc, meanwhile, people who are also looking for their family members joined together and organized many get-togethers and protests towards Sri Lankan government in many ways and situations. Nonetheless, those activities didn’t bring any solutions for us. On 2017 February 20 th, we have started a new way of activity called ‘continuous attention-seeking protest’ which is a new way of bringing more pressure on Sri Lankan government.
This kind of protest not only conveys enormous attention
from Sri Lankan government but also international community, the power of our
protest brought many of our family members who were missing, surrendered,
forced to disappeared, jailed, back to us.
I have the evidence that my son surrendered to the Sri Lankan army and
registered him. It is really hard to searching for my forced to disappeared son
while I am living with sick husband, who got sick after the son’s disappearance
and another disabled son. Sri Lankan government have to answer all those
mothers like me. International community must put more pressure on Sri Lankan
government to find all the missing persons. We believe, this pressure will give
us all a peaceful solution.
Importance of our nonviolence protest and Sri Lankan government’s double-stand
should be exposed to international community. Painfully, mothers who are
protesting on the roadside days and nights with tears should get a solution for
their pain, we are humbly requesting the international community to support us,
to have a peaceful life with our family.
You’re
sincerely

I,
Mrs. Mariyasuresh Easwari resident at Kurumbasity. Mother of three children of 08
years old son name is Mathusan, 05 years old daughter Vinusa & 10 month
baby Kavipriyan. We were living at Pokkanai with poverty due to jobless and
unable to go for fishing by the security problems. That’s the high time of war
when we move from pokkanai to Silabathurai.
On
2009 March 18th my husband went to fishing without considering the
existed security issue. It was impossible to live further inside the bunker.
While watching our children are starving. Unfortunately, He didn’t return to
home.
However,
It is not true that he went into the ocean for fishing and disappeared because,
we have eye witnesses to explain what was happened to my husband on that day.
That is when he went for fishing Navy arrest him with his fishing boat alone
among the other elder co-workers.
On
the same day I have reported to ICRC about the abduction and this incident was
published on a Jaffna newspaper.
We
didn’t received any favorable reply from any government or non-government
departments. Now I have no idea whether he alive or not and struggling every
day wondering about our future.
You’re
sincerely
Mrs. Mriyasuresh Easwari
